About us

Our Purpose:
To heighten awareness of the general public that digital photography has become a viable art medium.

Digital Photography Internationale, (DPI), is a consortium of 13 international photographers who joined forces in 2002 to present an all-digital photography exhibit. The group's intention is to heighten awareness of digital photography as an art medium. The guild continues to stay on the cutting edge of digital imaging with camera upgrades, expanding software capabilities, and setting standards in digital darkroom processing. Many of the members are exploring virtual painting, sketching and brushes tethered to the computer through a stylis and desktop canvas. Photography expertise ranges from abstracts to weddings, however most are intensely connected to natural landscapes, natural portraiture and photographing the animal kingdom.

The organization was originally founded by photographer and exhibitor, James Geddes, now located in an eastern suburb of Seattle WA. DPI  has been showcased throughout the US during a 4 year tour of their photographic exhibit. The DPI members have been presented with countless awards for photographic expertise. The individuals are very active in competitions ranging from local shows, national and international competitions.

There are thousands of people who take photographs. There are only a few digital photography artists. These have been selected to join us.
